Staying organised in the holidays

Christmas holidays are fast approaching, and some of you may already have broken up from school. The holidays are a great time to relax, see friends and family, go out, and make the most of that extra time. However, holidays can also lead you to become unorganised as your schedule changes so drastically, and I’m sure everyone’s been in the situation where they end up spending the last few days of their holiday working to deadlines. This week we’re going to discuss some easy and quick ways to help you stay organised in the holidays and on top of your work.

1. Make a new routine

As mentioned above, the thing that throws most people off is the lack of routine. A new routine, one that is different to school, but something that you can easily stick to in the holidays can be useful - something that involves a little bit of work a day to keep your brain engaged, but also allows you to rest and have the fun you deserve. Even working for an hour a day and taking weekends off (depending on your workload, of course) is better than not doing anything for a few weeks and having to work lots in the last few days of your holiday. It also gives you something to do if you ever need to tackle the holiday boredom.

2. Plan ahead

The holidays are a time where you will have plans with friends and family, perhaps short trips away etc, which means that planning ahead for your holidays and scheduling all these things in is essential if you want to complete your work on time with little stress. Going out can also be tiring, so make sure to schedule in time for plenty of rest. It does not have to be a rigorous schedule - even just a short to-do list for every day or couple of days to help remind you of what tasks you have to do can help.

3. REST!

The holidays are, first and foremost, a time to rest, catch up on sleep and just chill for a bit. Make sure that you leave plenty of time to do this between seeing loved ones and celebrations. A well-rested brain is much more productive than a tired brain and will help you when trying to keep on top of any holiday work you've been given. Make sure to rest your brain too - try new things, find new hobbies and try and enjoy yourself as much as possible.

I hope this has helped, and everyone has a great stress-free Christmas holiday!
